Q
What is Orientation?
A Orientation is a series of events and activities designed
to help new first-year students explore all that awaits
them at college or university. You'll meet people, find
out about resources on campus, learn how to find your way
around campus and have some fun too!
But
Orientation is more than just a single day or week of activities.
It's about our commitment to help you, as a new student,
explore opportunities for involvement on campus and successfully
connect to your new community. You'll want help not only
when you start college in July, but also throughout the
year, as your experiences and needs evolve. Our Orientation
activities will help you with this transition and we'll
be offering events and activities throughout your first
year.
Q When is Orientation?
A We'll
be in touch with all newly admitted students in July 2007
with specific details. You can also visit and bookmark the
JIS Group or individual college Web site and check back
for details.
Q Do I have to attend Orientation?
A No, it's not mandatory, but it's highly recommended for
all new undergraduate students - and not just for students
living in residence. It really will help smooth the transition
to career. You'll meet people, get to know the campus, and
get involved in some fun activities. It's definitely a good
idea!
