As a follow up action of AICTE Scheme for admission of Diploma holders to Degree Courses, Higher Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal has introduced a scheme for Lateral Entry by Diploma holders from Polytechnics directly to the second year class of Engineering Colleges, subject to following conditions (may change from time to time) :

a) Diploma holders should have passed Diploma programme from an AICTE approved polytechnic of the country.

b) Students should have their valid allotment card issued by Central Selection Committee alongwith JELET rank card.

c) Lateral Entry for Diploma holders will be allowed in the 2nd year 1st semester level. Seats, in addition to the sanctioned intake at 1st year level, limited to a maximum of 10% will be reserved for such students.
